W.a.V.E.S. Workshop '24
Working with Advanced Variables in Embedded Systems
TU of Munich, embedded systems
This year LC Munich held a week long academic workshop in the city’s Technological Univesity.
Monday
Our partner companies kicked the workshop off with brief introductions of their areas of experties and their offered engagement options.
The leading presenter, RedPitaya then talked us through some of their products and services, as well as how the workshop will progress.
As per tradition, we showed our guests the wonderful town of Munich in the form of an exciting City Rally. Here we visited the major sights to see in Munich while completeing challenges. After we found all those who got lost in the maze of the city, we headed to our favorite bowling alley for a great closure of the night.

On Tuesday the work really set off. Participants learned the basics of remote controlling and programming the STEMlab board, how to use and adjust oscillocopes and signal generators. This practise was acompanied by the theorie behind it all.
Getting to know all the nations where our paricipants and members hail from might just be the best part of an event like this. So an international night cannot be excluded from our schedule. All the members brought the hidden treasures of their cuntry and celebrated each other.

This day was all bout learning one of the most important competence of an engineer: Reading Documantation.
The participant had a whole asortment of parts that they could build on and program through the RedPitaya board. Among them were temperature sensors, accelorometers, gyroscopes power stages and many more.
The renowned electronics-fair the Electronica took place the same week the same town as our workshop (what a coinsidence), so we just had to go and take a look at it for our selves.

Thursday
Thusrday was the day to let our imaginations fly and to flex all our braincell to their limit. Here the students had the chance to work on a complete system of their own design. They had to plan, build and program their creations. They used all they were thought in the past three days, but most of all they used their skills to explore and invent solutions of their own, to solv real world problems.
Thirsday was the last night together. We got spen it in the company of each other, visiting the various christmasmarkets and pubs of Munich.
